Hungarian White Goose Down Duvet
Choose Your Tier
Every tier of the Hungarian White Goose Down Duvet is built for a different kind of sleeper. Here's how to find yours.
850 Fill Power — The Signature Tier
Our lightest, fluffiest loft, in the same 400 thread count sateen shell as 725. Maximum warmth with minimum weight.
725 Fill Power — The Elevated Tier
Paired with a 400 thread count sateen shell. Noticeably lighter and loftier than 650, with a smoother, silkier shell to match.
650 Fill Power — The Everyday Tier
Paired with a 280 thread count percale shell. Excellent warmth and softness at our most accessible price point — the ideal starting point for Hungarian down.
Two Shells, Purpose-Matched
Percale for crisp breathability at 650 fill power. Sateen for a softer, silkier feel at 725 and 850 — the shell is chosen to complement the loft, not just the price tier.
Four Warmth Levels
Summer, All Season, and Winter across every tier, plus Winter+ on our 725 and 850 fill power duvets for the coldest sleepers and coldest rooms.
Handcrafted in Canada
Every tier — from 650 to 850 — is finished in Canada by a team with over 30 years of down expertise, regardless of which configuration you choose.
Why Hungarian White Goose Down Rewards Going Up a Tier
Hungarian white goose down has a reputation built on softness — finer, more delicate clusters than many other down origins, which is why it's remained a staple of European luxury bedding for generations. But within that reputation, moving up in fill power changes more than the price.
At 650+ fill power, you get that signature Hungarian softness in an everyday, accessible package — genuinely warm, genuinely soft, and paired with a percale shell that keeps things crisp and breathable.
Move to 725+ or 850+, and the difference isn't just "warmer." Higher fill power means each cluster of down traps more air per ounce, so the duvet gets lighter even as it insulates more effectively — which is why we pair those tiers with a sateen shell that has more drape and a smoother feel, letting the increased loft show rather than fighting against a heavier fabric.
Every tier is certified to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), DOWNMARK®, and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 — so the only real decision is how much loft, softness, and warmth you want, not whether the sourcing is trustworthy.
This unique balance of warmth and lightness is what makes premium Hutterite goose down one of the most sought-after natural fills available today.
Royal Elite carefully selects only premium Canadian Hutterite goose down that meets strict quality standards for cleanliness, loft, and performance. Every duvet is handcrafted in Canada and certified under the RDS, giving you confidence that the down has been responsibly sourced with respect for animal welfare.
Combined with our breathable cotton shell and precision baffle box construction, this premium fill creates a duvet that feels cloud-like, regulates temperature naturally, and provides exceptional comfort season after season.

Your Hungarian White Goose Down Duvet Questions Answered
Should I choose 650+, 725+, or 850+ fill power?
Think of it as a ladder, not just a price difference. 650+ fill power gives you real Hungarian down softness and warmth at the most accessible entry point. 725+ fill power is a meaningful step up in loft and lightness. 850+ fill power is our most refined tier — the lightest weight for the most warmth. If you're new to down duvets, 650+ or 725+ is a great starting point; if you already know you want the best loft available, go straight to 850+.
Why does the shell change between tiers?
The 280 thread count percale shell on our 650 fill power duvet is crisp and breathable — a great match for that loft level. Once you move to 725 or 850 fill power, the down has more loft to show off, so we switch to a 400 thread count sateen shell with a smoother, silkier hand-feel that better suits the higher-end fill.
Is 850+ fill power worth the upgrade over 650+?
It depends on what you're optimizing for. 850+ fill power traps more air per ounce, so it delivers more warmth for less weight — the duvet feels noticeably lighter and fluffier. If ultra-light, hotel-level loft matters to you, yes. If you want excellent warmth at a lower price, 650+ fill power is not a compromise, just a different tier.
What is Winter+ and who is it for?
Winter+ is our warmest available warmth level, designed for cold sleepers or bedrooms that regularly run below typical winter temperatures. It's available only on our 725+ fill power duvet, since this tier has the loft capacity to support the added fill weight without becoming heavy.
Can I get Winter+ with 650+ fill power?
No — Winter+ is only offered on 725+ fill power, where the higher loft can carry the extra warmth level while staying lightweight. If you need maximum warmth with 650 fill power, Winter is the warmest option available at that tier.
Does a higher fill power mean a warmer duvet?
Not exactly — fill power measures loft (how much a given amount of down expands), not warmth directly. A higher fill power lets us reach a given warmth level with less down, making the duvet lighter. That's why 850+ fill power at "All Season" can feel just as warm as 650+ fill power at "All Season," but noticeably lighter on the bed.
What's the difference between percale and sateen shells?
Percale is a tighter, plain weave with a crisp, cool hand-feel — it's what wraps our 650+ fill power duvet. Sateen has a smoother, slightly lustrous finish with more drape, used on our 725+ and 850+ fill power duvets to complement their higher loft.
Is Hungarian goose down better than Hutterite goose down?
They're different profiles rather than better/worse. Hungarian White Goose Down is known for especially fine, soft clusters and a light, airy feel — and with this duvet, for the flexibility of three fill powers and two shells. Hutterite Goose Down, raised in Canada, is known for larger, more resilient clusters. Both are RDS-certified.
Is the down ethically sourced?
Yes. Our down is certified to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) by IDFL (certificate TE-99972106), which tracks down from source to finished product and prohibits live-plucking and force-feeding. The duvet is also DOWNMARK® certified for down authenticity and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 tested for harmful substances.
Will the down shift or clump over time?
No. The duvet uses baffle box construction — internal fabric walls that create three-dimensional chambers, keeping the down evenly distributed while allowing it to fully loft. This prevents cold spots and the migration of fill toward the edges that occurs in cheaper channel-stitched comforters.
Is this duvet made in Canada?
The down is sourced from Hungary; every duvet — at every fill power tier — is handcrafted in Canada with over 30 years of down expertise.
Do I need a duvet cover?
We recommend one. A duvet cover protects the 400 thread count cotton sateen shell from body oils and dust, extending the life of the duvet and the time between professional cleanings. Corner tabs on every Royal Elite duvet tie into your cover to keep it securely in place.
What sizes are available?
The duvet is available in Twin, Double, Queen, and King, each in Summer, All Season, Winter and Winter+ warmth levels. Royal Elite duvets are generously sized for better edge-to-edge coverage than standard-dimension comforters.
How long will this duvet last?
With proper care, a premium Hutterite goose down duvet lasts decades — mature-goose down clusters are notably more durable than standard fills. Every Royal Elite duvet is backed by a 30-Year Limited Warranty and crafted in Canada by a team with over 30 years of down expertise.
Can I switch fill power or shell after purchase?
Fill power and shell are selected together as a single variant at checkout (650 FP always ships with the percale shell; 725 and 850 FP always ship with sateen), so choose the combination that matches your preferred tier before ordering.
How do I clean a Hungarian goose down duvet, and does it differ by tier?
Care is the same across all tiers: do not machine wash. Use a dry cleaner specializing in down bedding, spot clean minor stains, and air the duvet outdoors periodically to help maintain loft, regardless of fill power.
